THE POSITION

Join our team as a Quality Engineering Intern and play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our race tire manufacturing processes. You will work closely with our Quality Management System (QMS), conduct machine capability studies, develop structured work instructions, and contribute to special projects. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in quality engineering while supporting Continental Business Teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Integration of QMS Documentation:

    • Collaborate with our Quality Management team to align QMS documentation with Continental standards and Technical Compliance requirements.
    • Ensure that our quality processes and procedures meet industry regulations and customer expectations.
  2. Machine Capability Studies:

    • Conduct comprehensive studies to assess the capability of machines involved in both component and final finish manufacturing processes.
    • Analyze data and provide insights to optimize machine performance and enhance product quality.
  3. Structured Work Instructions:

    • Create and develop clear and concise work instructions designed to standardize quality-related processes.
    • These instructions will serve as a valuable resource for our production teams, ensuring consistency and efficiency in operations.
  4. Special Projects:

    • Take on special projects as assigned by the Quality Management team, contributing your expertise to initiatives aimed at improving quality systems and processes.
    • These projects may involve research, data analysis, and implementation of innovative solutions to address specific quality challenges.
  5. Support for Continental Business Teams:

    • Collaborate with Continental Business Teams to provide quality engineering support and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
    • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that drive quality improvements across different departments and locations.
  6. Root Cause Investigation:

    • Utilize structured problem-solving techniques, such as root cause analysis (A3), to investigate and address recurring quality issues.
    • Identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and monitor the effectiveness of solutions to prevent future occurrences.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar field.
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing, with a graduation date of no later than May 2027.
  • Able to work 40 hours per week during normal business hours + potential domestic travel.
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.8 or higher
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.
  • Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity.
