The USA Compliance Officer works on a Regional Compliance team within a Global Compliance organization to promote, communicate, and ensure the implementation and administration of Continental’s Compliance Management System. The Compliance Officer works with colleagues nationally, regionally, and globally on projects impacting the company.

Overall:

  • Supports the business (and when working with management, influences without authority) to ensure the proper implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of Continental’s Compliance Management System.

Training:

  • Contributes to training modules and trains Continental employees of all levels (including senior management) via eLearning modules, virtual training sessions, and/or in person. The training materials focus on core compliance topics with the goal of helping the business identify risks, understand governing principles, mitigate those risks, and prevent compliance failures.
  • The Compliance Officer is responsible for recording and reporting advice and training attendance information to the Regional leader and to Global Headquarters.

Advice:

  • Provides practical and timely advice to business personnel on all Compliance-related policies and on Continental’s risk areas including, but not limited to business ethics, antitrust / competition, corruption, money laundering, and fraud.

Reporting:

  • Complies and reports requested data to Group Compliance leadership. These statistics include, but are not limited to, advice given, the reach of communication campaigns, and training data.

Risk Assessment & Mitigation:

  • Evaluates business risks and compliance concerns.
  • Compliance management and proactive support of Compliance leadership in mitigating the US Continental companies’ risk areas including, but not limited to business ethics, antitrust/competition, corruption, money laundering, and fraud.

Projects:

  • Actively supports Central Compliance Team on projects, practice groups, policy revisions, training slide development, and other initiatives. 

Policy Development:

  • Contributes to and supports the establishment and continuous improvement of compliance programs, processes, policies, and manuals designed to enhance a culture of compliance with all applicable laws and Continental rules and to prevent, detect and remedy compliance failures.

Principal Individual tasks, duties, and responsibilities

  • Supports Regional Compliance Officer’s on-going analysis of legal and regulatory risks in the USA and Canada resulting in efforts to mitigate those risks.
  • Contributes to and supports the establishment and continuous improvement of compliance programs, processes and manuals designed to build a culture of compliance and to prevent, detect and/or remedy compliance failures.
  • Supports the development of training strategies and materials and helps deploy the resulting training.
  • Provides training in regarding core compliance areas to employees to help prevent compliance failures.
  • Gives practical Compliance advice on changes in the businesses’ regulatory environment. Evaluates business compliance concerns and gives practical advice on compliance-related matters.

Reikalavimai

BASIC:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field  
  • 7+ years of related compliance professional experience
  • Needs to have an understanding of US Law and Business
  • Experience in multinational company or international professional firm
  • Strong knowledge and experience in antirust, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, and/or fraud
  • Strong experience in developing, adapting, and conducting training programs to educate employees at different levels of experience and responsibilities and/or stakeholders
  • Worked closely with internal stakeholders to assess and mitigate compliance risks associated with business strategy and management.
  • Strong communication skills, strategic mindset, with a proactive, structured, and independent way of working
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and drive cross-functional initiatives
  • High level of commitment, confidence, and strong team skills
  • Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, audit, and human resource procedures and regulations
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening
  • Can offer a domestic relocation package if needed

PREFERRED:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree
  • 10+ years of related compliance professional experience
  • Member of a state bar in good standing
  • 5+ years of experience working in Compliance for a global organization and/or relevant experience practicing law or other similar function
