Senior Algorithm Developer

In the Budapest Artificial Intelligence Development Centre of Continental, Autonomous Mobility, we create next generation automotive software solutions which make automated driving safe and affordable. We work towards Vision Zero, a goal to eliminate fatal accidents happening every day on the world’s roads. We are looking for creative minds who are passionate to shape the future of automated driving by delivering world-class perception and fusion systems. Our teams develop complex and high performing reference systems based on lidar, camera and navigational data from high-end sensors. Hardware, data, and machine learning teams are collaborating with us to provide high quality reference data to different business needs, e.g. product validation.

As a Senior Algorithm Developer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of advanced algorithms that power our products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers and drive the company's success.

Your Tasks

• Develop and optimize complex algorithms for e.g. localization, object detection, and sensor fusion, in various applications of computer vision projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software architects, software- and data engineers to integrate algorithms into products and systems.
• Document algorithm designs, processes, and results for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in project planning, task estimation, and technical input for project timelines.
• Think in systems and explore opportunities to improve and streamline end-to-end processes by transforming abstract concepts into working solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

• University degree (BSc or higher) in a technical area: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. PhD is a plus.

• 5+ years of experience in algorithm development, with a proven track record of successful projects.

• Professional usage of Python.

• Strong skills in usage of software development tools.

• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.

• Strong communication- and collaboration skills.

• Experience in mentoring and training junior developers.

• Good command of English language.

• Willingness to work independently and as part of an international team.

Nice to have
