Software Collaboration Platform Engineer

Continental Tires is seeking a Software Collaboration Platform Engineer to take ownership of our GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Atlassian Cloud platforms. This role is essential to ensuring operational excellence, platform reliability, and a seamless developer experience across our global software teams.

You will serve as the service owner for both collaboration platforms, driving best practices, automation, and integration across the development lifecycle. This is a high-impact position requiring deep technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for developer experience.

Main Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Confluence) platforms across the global organization;
• Define and implement platform governance, security policies, and automation strategies;
• Collaborate with software engineering, DevOps, and IT security teams to ensure seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure;
• Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps practices;
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools using Bash, Python, or similar languages;
• Provide expert-level support, training, and documentation for internal teams;
• Monitor platform performance, usage, and compliance;
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives;
• Stay current with industry trends and evaluate new tools and features for potential adoption.

• University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related studies;
• 3 years of experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering roles;
• Hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise and Atlassian Jira & Confluence administration;
• Strong experience with GitHub services and integrations;
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and project management practices;
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) and the Azure cloud;
• Strong scripting skills in Bash, Groovy, Python, or similar;
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence technical direction;
• Critical thinking, problem-solving mindset and the ability to quickly deep dive into new problems;
• Experience with Agile project management;
• Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus).
