IT Consultant for Storage, Compute and Virtualization (TM)

As IT Consultant for Storage, Compute and Virtualization (m/f/diverse) you will be joining the core technologies data center team responsible for architecture, development, and level 3 support of our Core Infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects and technologies in an agile environment, develop and implement own ideas, and work independently within the specified framework to have a direct impact on the success of our Automotive IT and the Automotive business. If you have experience in developing or working as a DevOps, you can have the opportunity to also support our transformation from classic infrastructure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Basic responsibilities:

IT Datacenter development, operations and support:

• 3rd level support & consultancy for Core Infrastructure:
  • Storage (Netapp)
  • Virtualization (VMware)
  • Compute (Dell/Cisco)
  • Switches (Cisco)
  • Central management tools
  • Monitoring environment
• Participate in architecting the future Core Infrastructure by providing new ideas, improving the current service, transforming it into the future and ensuring that it will be able to serve all business demands faster and more flexibly.
• Coordinating and driving projects such as a global rollout and migration.
• Troubleshooting and debugging of IT infrastructure DC problems and incidents (level 3) in an international environment.
• Executing change and incident management by following standard ITSM rules.
• Supporting the follow-the-sun operations as well as problem and escalation management.
• Actively identifying and implementing security improvements.

• Academic Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Information Technology, or a comparable field.
• At least 5 years of technical experience in Information Technology;
  • Extensive experience in managing Netapp (ideally holding Netapp certification) is a must.
  • Hands-on experience in Compute (including hardware), Virtualization, Network, and, Cloud services.
  • Experience in scripting, pipeline- and software development tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Powershell, Python, other programing languages) would be beneficial.
• Ability to manage projects.
• Expertise in coordinating an external service provider.
• Knowledge of ITIL Incident and Change Management (ideally with ITIL certification).
• Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and creative approach and the ability to work efficiently and cost-effectively with minimal guidance.
• Decisiveness and result-driven mindset.
• Strong coordination, communication, and presentation skills.
• Positive attitude with a desire to make an impact on the organization.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with excellent planning and organizational skills, high level of dedication, flexibility and independence.
• Ability to work in a distributed, worldwide environment.
• Knowledge about agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban - ideally SAFe certified) and Jira/Confluence would be beneficial.
• Intercultural experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally and domestically.
• Excellent English fluency (written and spoken).
