Senior Legal Counsel (Hungary) - Tires
Your tasks
The Senior Legal Counsel will provide legal support to Continental legal entities in Hungary and in the Eastern Europe & Middle East region, and support strategic legal initiatives. This role involves providing efficient, reliable, coordinated, and innovative legal solutions that enable the management and employees of Continental to achieve the goals of the corporation that minimize the risks and maximize the opportunities of the corporation, while serving as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external law firms in Eastern Europe & Middle East region.
Your main tasks will be:
Consultancy
- Provide legal advice on national and international matters to internal clients in Eastern Europe & Middle East region.
- Identify and analyze legal risks; offer support for the development and implementation of solutions for risk avoidance or its limitation.
- Offer support in communicating and negotiating with external parties in complex/high-stakes matters.
- Independently lead or coordinate complex projects in multiple legal areas with multiple stakeholders.
- Consistently monitor changes in legislation.
Contracts
- Draft and review contracts of all kinds and other legal documents.
- Offer support in negotiation of high complexity/high stake contracts.
- Independently draft and update contract templates in all legal areas.
- Use available Contract Management and Matter Management tools.
Training
- Conduct workshops & training for assigned internal clients.
- Coach junior legal colleagues in their technical as well as organizational skills.
Claims
- Assist and support internal clients in claim management, both in and out of court, both as claimant and as defendant.
Communication, cooperation, and coordination
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties (customers, suppliers, public authorities, etc.).
- Cooperate with other central functions and departments within Continental.
- Coordinate external law firms.
Reporting
- Regularly record and track all legal matters in applicable IT system(s) and provide an overview when required.
Your profile
Educational Requirements
- University degree from Law School;
- Full professional proficiency in Hungarian law;
- Additional certification in law (e.g. bar exams) is a plus.
Your Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in law;
- Working experience abroad or in a multinational company, or having studied abroad, is a plus;
- Very good knowledge of commercial law (including international commercial law and antitrust law), civil law, corporate law, and labor law;
- Ability to draft and review contracts;
- Hungarian language – native or bilingual proficiency;
- Written and spoken legal English – full professional proficiency;
- Ability to work independently and to manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously;
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills;
- Confident handling of MS Office;
- Basic knowledge of Contract Management and Matter Management tools;
- High level of integrity and professional ethics.
