Software Shopfloor Solutions Engineer

As part of our Manufacturing Technology Engineering Organization, our team of the Solution Development Center (SDC) develops, implements and supports automation solutions for our tire plants worldwide.

By joining the development team, you are responsible for development, industrialization and support our Shopfloor Solutions for our production in all 20 Continental Tire factories around the globe.

You will be part of a motivated IT team supporting digitalization and Industry 4.0 projects and activities on global scale.

Your tasks and responsibilities in detail will be: 

• Develop shopfloor solutions based on requirements from internal business partners, primarily using .NET, Python, OPC UA and Docker for containerized solutions;
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical implementations;
• Collaborate on the piloting of new features and systems in our tire plants;
• Work within an international, multicultural team spanning 7 locations globally;
• Provide remote and occasional on-site 3rd level IT support of 20 tire plants in Europe, USA, Mexico, Brazil, China, Malaysia, Thailand, …

By joining our development team, you will be responsible for developing manufacturing shopfloor solutions for tire production, working with modern technologies like .NET, Python and Docker in a global and collaborative environment.

• Academic degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related qualification;
• 1+ year(s) of professional experience as software developer, ideally in a manufacturing or shopfloor environment;
• Proficient in C# / .NET, Python development (Unit Testing is a plus);
• Experience building and deploying applications with Docker - containerization, container orchestration (is a plus);
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens and Beckhoff are a plus);
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies (SAFe, or similar);
• Proficient English language skills (verbal and written);
• Reliable team player with structured workstyle, focused on continuous learning.
