Maintenance Worker I

Position Summary:

This position will repair and maintain the facility buildings, grounds and utilities. The position will perform various mechanical and carpentry tasks and will assist other maintenance groups as needed to keep the plant running in an efficient, cost effective manner.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain the plant grounds.  This will include, but is not limited to cutting grass, weed eating, and gardening.
• Maintain the plant buildings.  This will include, but is not limited to, flooring repair, roofing repair, and painting.
• Clean up around the interior and exterior of the plant.
• Maintain yard vehicles, tractors, backhoe, mowers, etc.
• Check & drain sumps at chemical storage areas, empty waste trailers, assist with storage and shipping of chemical wastes.  
• Perform PM maintenance on utility equipment such as chillers, air compressors, boiler, air handling units.
• Perform carpentry tasks which include constructing wooden items, making shipping supplies, loom walk boards, installing windows and doors,
• Follow all plant safety rules and attend all required safety trainings.
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor, group leader or manager

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

• Be able to provide their own basic tools (socket sets, combination wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, vice grips, hack saw, etc.)
• Have a basic mechanical knowledge suitable for using and maintaining yard and carpentry equipment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• A High School Diploma or GED
• Computer Literate
