Sr Product Service Specialist - Truck Tire US



Responsibilities: Leads Product Performance Monitoring (PPMo) coordination for USA Truck Tire Market, supports Sales and CLC (ContiLifeCycle) partners as the Retread Field Engineering Expert and TCS (Technical Customer Service) Digital Solutions warranty process.  Provide training to Sales, Fleets and Dealers on retread topics.

Responsible for product performance monitoring of truck tires and retreads in comparison with competition by the means of coordinating with all contributors and supporting the process with trouble shooting process to insure proper collection of data.

Advanced understanding of Retread process and failure modes. Resolves customer complaints and monitors Retread adjustments for trends. Improves quality results by evaluating processes and recommending changes.

Supports Digital Solution warranty process.

Collaborate with Central TCS and other markets in the development of Global Complaint Handling tool.

Helps focus on customers experience.

May lead projects and/or provide mentoring to other staff as directed by TCS Manager.

Manages and ensures support of Marketing & Sales activities in the market through technical field services incl. adjustment handling, training and troubleshooting of processes listed.

Essential Functions:

  • Product Specialist is instrumental in obtaining, analyzing and reporting field data regarding market requirements and product performance, identify and address quality/adjustment trends for further review.
  • Provides proper communication of relevant market feedback gathered in the field and through warranty data for products and competitor products.
  • Supports Local O2I (Observation to Improvement) process to ensure continuous product improvement measures for Retread and Digital Solutions.
  • Evaluate, classify & report performance feedback & market data collected from field adjustments and competitor benchmark data to the product improvement process O2I (Observation to Improvement) meetings for discussion & review.
  • Monitor and report results/effectiveness of product improvement measures as needed.
  • Recommend problem resolution scenarios for Retread.
  • Provide technical service incl. consulting and training/presentations regarding tires and Retread to internal and external customers as well as business partners and measure trainee satisfaction.
  • Travel 30-50%

  • Bachelor’s degree AND 5+ years of professional relevant & technical experience OR 10+ years of professional relevant & technical experience
  • Continental will only consider current internal employees for this position
  • Retread Research and Development or Retread plant/shop experience
  • Frequently moves tires weighting greater than 80 pounds as a performance of the job.
