Mechanical Engineer


Initiate, develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products. Assume manufacturing process ownership for existing and new products. Initiate and lead manufacturing continuous improvement activities to meet and exceed specific measurable goals for department safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction and up time.


Develop and improve processes with respect to stabilization, cost reduction and variance reduction in the department. Special focus on the continuous improvement projects, CBS, TQM, TPM. Actively participate in developing, monitoring, and improving processes throughout the plant.



Driving force in continuing improvement of systems and processes within the area of responsibilities with focus on process improvement and cost.  Monitor systems to identify trends and anomalies, including waste, and ensure reduction countermeasures are developed. Assists in other areas of the plant to improve plant performance. Perform floor Time and Methods study using existing systems and new systems.  Observe and analyze floor operations to determine weaknesses and strengths for improvement opportunities.



Drive and track departmental improvement initiatives in CBS, TQM and TPM.  Participates in TPM, Reliability, and CBS teams.  Act as a team member on other work group teams and manage, identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement projects.



 Assist in daily trouble shooting of manufacturing process in area of responsibility.  Act as liaison to engineering services for departmental project work.


While performing the above duties, Adhere to all safety and environmental rules and regulations.



Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.  3 plus years of experience is preferred.
