Continuous Improvement Lean Engineer (Continental Business Systems Coach)



  1. Initiate, drive and monitor continuous improvement activities (Kaizen events and Value stream mappings) according to roadmaps on all levels of the plant organization
  2. Mentor Lean Manufacturing (CBS) Practitioners to support them in executing the improvement routine
  3. Coach local management / create Lean Manufacturing culture and awareness
  4. Conduct Lean Training classes and advanced Lean training as needed to educate employees.
  5. Provide structure for Business Teams and coach Business Team Leaders for effective team work 
  6. Assist Plan Management and Facilitate strategy development plan for the plant
  7. Develop and promote Lean flow in both manufacturing and administrative processes.
  8. Support the owners of the plant BSC KPIs with improvement activities to meet or exceed target
  9. Moderate workshops to ensure common understanding of Lean (CBS) methods
  10. Train and coach all levels of plant organization for problem solving
  11. Actively participate in the Company CBS network communities and report on the plant Kaizen activities
  12. Communicate results and lessons learnt to Regional CBS Coaches and actively use CBS network to resolve problems / difficulties

  1. Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Engineering or comparable professional training and experience  
  2. Professional experience (at least 5 years) in Manufacturing environment
  3. Hands on machinery/process improvement experience
  4. Cross functional experience (preferred)
  5. Experience as a project manager for (lean) projects and proven ability to successfully follow through on complex projects to completion
  6. Good knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles (theoretical and practical)
  7. Experience with Structured Problem Solving
  8. Six Sigma certificate (preferred)
  9. Coaching and Facilitation skills
  10. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to adapt to a changing environment
  11. Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs
  12. Strong analytical skills, creativity, initiative, and affinity towards new technologies
  13. Strong communication skills and proven team oriented problem solving-skills
  14. Ability to successfully interact with cross-functional teams.
  15. Team player with intercultural competencies
