Quality Manager - Compounding


The mission of the position is to plan, coordinate and control all quality management activities in order to meet budget and quality targets (e.g. minimize customer complaints, scrap and waste, secure auditing targets, etc.). Furthermore, the Compounding Quality Manager initiates and implements action plans for continuous improvement of all quality relevant processes.

Main Task

  • Manage and coordinate all quality management activities for the Compounding operations unit (CCLN)
  • Translate Compounding unit’s quality strategy into action plans and ensure implementation
  • Contribute to strategic and operative planning of the Compounding operations unit (e.g. with respect to investments, capacity and headcount planning)
  • Ensure the achievement of quality targets according to internal and external customer expectations
  • Ensure operation of incoming inspection according to production control plan, production planning and standards
  • Ensure operation of in process quality assurance according to production control plan, production planning and standards in close cooperation with production function of plant/operations unit
  • Stop production processes in case quality requirements are not fulfilled and ensure corrective actions
  • Manage blocked stock storage and disposition of non-conforming material according to standards.
  • Ensure operation of laboratory and quality equipment according to standards.
  • Ensure management of customer complaints (e.g. 8D reports, A3) and collect and address customer satisfaction according to standards.
  • Ensure quality performance (KPI) monitoring and reporting (e.g. regarding scrap, waste, customer complaints, etc.) in cooperation with plant controlling and production.
  • Ensure local implementation of central quality standards.
  • Interface to Business Unit(Global Compounding Operations) or Business Area (ContiTech) functions in order to gather local quality management requirements and demands and other feedback.
  • Participate in and/or steer local quality related and cross-functional projects.



  • Manufacturing related technologies, systems, infrastructures, standards and processes
  • Quality Management and standards (IATF 16949,ISO 9001: 2015, quality policies, systems and processes)
  • Statistical techniques (e.g. CPK, Pareto, Six Sigma, FMEA, QFD, 8D)
  • Problem solving and decision-making tools and techniques
  • Rubber and plastics tooling, processing and production equipment


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in engineering, science, quality management or related discipline.
  • 2 or more years of professional experience in various quality management function.


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in engineering, science, quality management or related discipline.
  • 5 or more years of professional experience in various quality management functions
  • Cross functional experience e.g. in engineering, supply chain, purchasing or CBS preferred
  • Comprehensive experience in rubber production processes
