Internal - Over Inspector (Quality Technician IV) – Night Shift

THE POSITION

• Assure compounds, components and tire quality, prevention of non-quality and control of non-confirming semi-products
• On time handling of non-conformities and dispositions
• Ensure quality assurance and inspection policies and procedures are followed and perform accurately in all work
• Must be able to follow instructions and utilize strong communication skills as well as advanced problem-solving skills
• Decide on final disposition of off-standard products, in cooperation with QM and PI in applicable areas
• Assure appropriate in-process key quality characteristics are over-inspected at the required frequency and appropriate actions are taken and documented
• Fulfillment of error proofing verification
• Utilize basic measurement techniques and Microsoft Excel skills
• Must have basic knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 and quality management tools such as SPC, FMEA, 8D, PPAP, MSA, etc.
• Must be able to pass titmus eye exam with or without corrective lenses and pass color vision screening
• Enter data into the electronic SPC data collection system where applicable
• Follow the internal ESH work instructions in the daily work 
• Demonstrate exemplary personal behavior in ESH and motivate others 
• Ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards 
• Supports the Continental Business System (CBS ) structure by participating in the applicable CBT meeting, reviewing and managing his/her/team performance, conducting simple problem-solving using action sheets, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities, participating in the CBT reviews, and taking ownership for presented parts of the team boards
• Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• One or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must be a current grader at Continental Sumter
• Must be able to work panama night shift
• This role is an internal only position, external applicants will not be considered for this role
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Continental is not able to offer visa support
• Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 20-75 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associates degree
• OVI certified
