Assembly Team Lead

As an Assembly Team Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the Assembly Team is actively engaged to meet daily customer demand and production schedule while maintaining a safe and healthy place for all employees. In addition, you will also be responsible for:

  • Supporting critical manufacturing success areas in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Working with Production Manager and other Team Leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to ensure customer demand and the production schedule are met.
  • Executing and coordinating employee training with the EHS manager to ensure that procedures are followed and meeting all quality and safety requirements.
  • Meeting specification requirements for the product and following defined quality system requirements (work instructions, standard work, auditing), improving indicators and ensuring employees understand and follow procedures.
  • Using basic problem-solving skills to ensure continuous operation of the team.
  • Solving and reporting problems and concerns with safety, quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Production Manager.
  • Evaluating employee performance and delivering positive and constructive feedback. Counseling/Coaching will be administered under the guidance of the Production Manager and Human Relations.
  • Working closely with the Safety Committee to foster a positive safety culture and to complete safety-related activities.
  • Updating production metrics and facilitating regular team communication.
  • Identifying and supporting continuous improvement efforts with Production Manager.
  • Sustaining and driving lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
  • Participating as an active member of the production team and filling in where needed, including as the backup for the Production Manager.
  • Completing required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Administrative duties including daily production reporting related to Productivity, Quality, Material Usage, OEE, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent (GED) and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Continental is not able to pay relocation expenses for this opportunity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Basic mechanical experience
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to work with others collaboratively.
  • Ability to coach and give directions to team members
  • Strong organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading teams or projects.
  • Lean manufacturing and continual process improvement experience.
