(Senior) Data Compliance Officer

The Data Compliance Officer position has formal responsibility for Data Compliance, that means ensuring compliance with all applicable data regulations related to personal, technical or geological data (such as GDPR and other data protection laws], within diverse legal entities and will monitor, manage and advise on compliance and data practices internally to ensure the business and its functions comply with applicable requirements.

The Data Compliance Officer will be responsible for guidance and support of the Compliance Coordinators' responsibilities, including but not limited to organizing trainings, ensuring legally required data protection impact assessments, and orchestrate internal spot checks or reviews. The Data Compliance Officer will also serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and public authorities in the countries and those individuals whose data is processed by the organization. It will ensure compliance with national data regulations and mandatory internal regulations like Continental's Binding Corporate Rules (BCR). Another central topic is the protection of the privacy of customers, employees and other stakeholders.

• Academic degree in Law, Business Administration, or comparable education;
• Qualification/certification in Data Compliance (preferred);
• 3+ of professional experience within a compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function;
• Experience with GDPR;
• Experience implementing data compliance management systems and developing policy and data protection compliance training;
• Knowledge of information technology and data management systems;
• Solid knowledge of EU data compliance regulations and understanding of other major national data compliance frameworks and evolving legislation;
• Project management and change management skills;
• Ability to manage multiple projects;
• Experience in multinational organizations with diverse teams (preferred);
• Business-fluent English skills (spoken and written);
• Strong communication skills and team-player mentality;
• Independent working style;
• Intercultural sensitivity;
• Open to travel up to 10% , incl. business trips abroad.
