Automotive Engineer - Truck Tires
Responsabilități
Ensure timely confirmation of technical tire approvals from those vehicle manufacturers (truck vehicles) for whom the jobholder is responsible (in compliance with the target approvals), and provide customer service using the company’s resources of engineering and development, to reach the corporate goals of Continental.
Main Tasks:
- Obtaining information about new vehicle models / concepts and their tire-specific requirements, and communicating such information internally to product management and customer service;
- Secure introduction of tire size which meets local OEMs requirements in coordination with product management, product industrialization and primarily R&D;
- Assessment of tire properties within the scope of joint approval tests with the appropriate vehicle manufacturers;
- Involvement in / evaluation of tire designs during the tire and vehicle harmonization process within the scope of concept management and predevelopment of new vehicle models;
- Production of various technical reports (drawings, tests, tire fitment, certifications, audits, engr. presentations);
- Measurement of tires on the field. Coordination of approvals by soliciting test tires, budgeting costs, organizing for test facilities, and all necessary equipment within specified schedules and in coordination with customer;
- Timely response to technical inquiries from the customer base coordinating all related and necessary actions;
- Ensuring that supplies meet the quality demanded by the vehicle manufacturer (TU values, environmental aspects etc.) in close collaboration with the quality departments of the Conti plants;
- Preparation of plant, process and product audits in cooperation with the respective plant management and the issuing of corresponding quality reports in writing (initial sample reports, quality evaluations, technical letters, etc.);
- Processing of claims relating to production tires fitted as original equipment in writing (initial sample reports, quality evaluations, customer technical presentations etc.);
- Budgeting and co-management of technical events at the customer's premises for the respective calendar year;
- Assistance with the production of necessary sales documentation (technical content);
- Monitoring of competitor activities in respect of the OE customers assigned to the jobholder informing organization of new trends, tire sizes, competitor performance and future technical requirements for the region (i.e labeling, noise requirements, etc.);
- Coordinating interface esp. towards central & local R&D, Product Management, central and global quality depts;
- Definition, check of Target Approvals in coordination with KAM/RAM and corresponding follow up;
- Coordinate global internal interfaces towards global OEMs business. Exchange technical information with automotive engineers worldwide. Contact global customers technical centers for tire approval coordination support (i.e. Navistar Michigan, Ford-Turkey, MAN-Mexico, etc.);
- Provide technical strategy for the region in cooperation with AEs & Global KAMs for the respective accounts;
- Represents Continental at customer events;
