Quality Engineer APQP
Serve as a hub for problem solving and continuous improvement activity by assembling and leading cross functional teams tasked with improving our operational performance and solving our biggest problems, triggered by internal and external customers
** Directly supervise and manage activity of APQP Tech to ensure robust adherence to defined APQP process and timely and successful completion of PPAP submissions – drive problem solving from early stages
**Coordinate and plan activities in conjunctions with operations group to fulfill prototype and service parts orders in a timely and efficient fashion
**Directly supervise and manage activity of gage control lab to ensure seamless operation of in process inspection hardware and software
**Responsible for coordination and management of problem solving activities related to current production parts, coordination and planning of APQP and PPAP effort for new production / process programs and revisions, planning and execution of prototype and service orders. Problem solving effort on current production should be focused on continually reducing scrap, reducing customer complaints, increasing machine uptime and improving total product cycle time in order to reduce plantwide operating costs and increasing Culpeper’s operational competitiveness based on internal and external operational excellence metrics.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or 4+ equivalent years of experience.
• General knowledge of development and/or manufacturing processes (e.g.: PFMEA processes, Control Plan, AIAG PPAP, APQP)
• 2+ years of relevant Quality experience
• Good understanding of vehicle architecture and components is a plus
• Knowledge of ISO 14001, IATF 16949, and Problem-Solving tools (5Why, Ishikawa, A3, and 8D, etc.)
General knowledge of AIAG PPAP, Control Plan and pFMEA processes
