Key Role of this position

  • Provide intelligence on economy, political / geo-political influences as well as technologies and industry trends which affects business environment of JOEM business. 
  • Monitor customers' performance and competitive situations in the market, provide insights to support business operations and driving JOEM strategy.
  • Contribute / support decision making process for JOEM business activities by providing market insights and analytics.
  • Translate data into executable and effective market and intelligence reports.

Responsibility / Tasks

  1. Market Research & Analysis
    • Perform thorough, systematic analysis of key industry trends; the general social economic and political environment; legal and regulatory issues; customers; current and potential competitors.
    • Provides market and competitive insights through presentations and reports to senior management and various internal management teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation.
  2. Market Forecasting & Input to Strategic Planning
    • Make input on Light Vehicle Production Figures (LVPF) for JOEM WW by providing latest market view (future market trends and volumes forecast). Focus on Japan as market champion (responsible to deliver official LVPF volume) and coordinate data alignment for other markets and regions. 
    • Supplies the market and competitive intelligence component of strategic planning, and proactively makes recommendations to management concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration.
  3. Information Resource Management
    • Profiles JOEM global market and competitive environment, providing insights that support strategic decision-making and for use in internal presentations by senior leadership.
    • Create and maintain information pool, database, and sharing platform to utilize data assets and accumulated intelligence.
    • Creates and updates contents of above platform; comprehensive industry, competitor and customer including, but not limited to, market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces.
    • Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of Japan market and JOEM business, as well as future trend topics by attending trade shows and business intelligence events and etc. to collect intelligence and data.
  4. External Affairs
    • Build and maintain relationship with external parties, to gain access to in-depth market intelligence.
    • Curate and manage external information sources (i.e, industry news media, magazines, market reports, statistic etc. )

  • Knowledge of Automotive industies
  • Knowledge and understanding of macro-economics, geopolitical, political environment.
  • Knowledge on data analytics, database, statistics.
  • Understanding of Business management process (strategy, marketing, value chain process)
  • Logical and articulate english writing
  • Accumen on IT tools and applications (MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, SAP etc.)
