Tax Analyst

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tax Analyst to join our team in Auburn Hills, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

• Prepare federal, state, and local tax income returns for accuracy and compliance
• Assist in the preparation of income tax provision workpapers
• Prepare and file tax returns for sales & use tax, property tax, and excise tax
• Perform monthly reconciliations of indirect and/or direct tax accounts
• Respond to sales tax inquiries and exemption certificate requests
• Conduct research on tax issues and provide recommendations to management
• Assist with tax audits
• Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the company
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for tax filings
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or 2 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Corporate tax experience with an emphasis on multistate income tax compliance, sales and use tax, property tax, and other indirect tax functions is a plus.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
• Experience with corporate tax returns and filings
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
