Multi Skilled Maintenance Technican

The Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe working, maintenance and general condition of all machinery and equipment in the production area. This includes Breakdown Maintenance and Planned Maintenance specializing in fault finding and support of PLC controlled and automated machinery. To also drive the introduction of new processes and upgrade existing processes in order: Push down the cost and improve the quality of existing products. Respond to calls for breakdown assistance from all sources using various methods of communication including use of the mobile phone provided. Ensure that production downtime is minimized by attending to machinery and equipment breakdowns in an efficient manner. Enter the necessary information into the PEMAC system. Fault find on PLC controlled machinery via ‘online’ analysis status using PC. Fault finding on variable speed drives. Ensure that the Planned Maintenance (PM) schedule is carried out and reported correctly and any resultant problems recorded and resolved. In consultation with the Maintenance Supervisor and the Planning Engineer, recommend changes and additions to the PM schedule to ensure that the plant operates at the most effective level. Maintain variable speed drives. Give technical support to initiatives driven by departments or business units, and to work with other departments or business units in order to achieve their objectives. For example, efficiency improvements, Quality Assurance and Health and Safety corrective actions, maintenance procedures, breakdown actions, training, NPI etc.

Level 2 City & Guilds two-year mechanical maintenance apprenticeship (level 3 preferred)
Welding experience and qualification
Electrical fault finding
PLC experience (Desireable)
