Software Engineer - Embedded Linux


We are looking to appoint a Software Engineer that will join an international team working on components for the digital cockpit of the future including instrument clusters, high performance computers and 5G telematic control units.

Depending on the candidate’s experience and preference, he will be able to demonstrate his knowledge either working on low-level components (Linux device drivers, Bootloaders, etc.) or developing high-level user-space applications using C++.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement embedded Linux based software components in C, C++
  • Integrate, test and validate the developed software components
  • Support the software architecture and detailed design creation
  • Analyze and extend existing software modules according to customer requirements
  • Support of the hardware development team during the board bring-up phase
  • Cooperate in building a complex software system that serves as a platform for the vehicle of the future


Basic qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related Engineering disciplines
  • Good programming skills in C/C++ in a Linux Environment
  • Profound understanding about POSIX/Linux operating systems including Kernel and User space as well as Inter-Process Communication (IPC) mechanism
  • Ability to work in international teams and with international customers
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Embedded C/C++ and scripting languages (Bash, Python or similar)
  • Analyzing network traffic (CAN, Ethernet), using tools like Wireshark or CANoe
  • Modifying and building operating systems using Yocto or Buildroot
  • Building software using Makefiles and CMake
  • Agile development processes (Scrum)
  • Cyber Security concepts: Application security and encryption algorithms
