System Test Engineer Autonomous Mobile Robots (m/f/diverse)


As part of product development for the Continental Automotive Technologies GmbH Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) area at the Rheinböllen location, we are looking for a system test engineer.

Especially in the development of novel autonomous driving robot systems. These vehicles can be used in a wide variety of areas such as logistics, production, delivery services, agricultural technology, or in direct interaction with people.

Job scope including but not limited to:

  • Setting up the robot with the respective software and configurations needed to conduct the tests
  • Setting up the fleet management applications and communications needed on the server and on the robots
  • Conduct system tests based on internal, external, and legal requirements
  • Conduct regression / delta tests to recertificate new components or functions
  • Definition of test setups and test cases
  • Evaluate test efforts and define test criteria
  • Evaluate test results based on given requirements and create test reports
  • Ability to conduct failure analysis, troubleshooting and debugging
  • Work on platform and application projects for autonomous mobile robots within interdisciplinary teams
  • Provide feedback to stakeholders, based on test results
  • Setting up the robot with the respective software and configurations needed to conduct the tests


  • Completed studies in the field of software, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in electrical and mechatronic systems or components with focus on automotive or robotic or similar product areas
  • Experience in concept and system architecture for products of comparable complexity Experience in testing during product development
  • Experience in product development processes and the product lifecycle
  • Experience in the application of common communication protocols (e.g., CAN, GigE) is welcome
  • Experience in vehicle engineering (ground transportation vehicles, off-highway, robotics, or automotive)
  • Experience in SW programming (Python, C++)
  • Basic knowledge in PLC / SPS programming
  • Good knowledge of English and German, verbal and in writing
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills in an interdisciplinary team environment
  • Sense for responsibility and a clear commitment to qualitative work products
  • High level of initiative and willingness for continuous development
