Development Engineer for Virtual Tire Development Original Equipment PLT (m/f/d) - REF36633F

You want to build OE tires for VW and Audi using the newest tire technologies and apply state-of-the-art development methods and tools within your daily work? Then come and join our team in the VW account as an OE tire development engineer.

You will support in defining our future tire development strategy and process while balancing performance requirements from our OE customers with other goals like for example plant complexity. You will also support in building a viable partnership with the OEMs in order to establish the correct requirement setting and ensuring ideal application of all virtual development tools for a more efficient development process. This is explicitly including the new Conti Driving Simulator, where you will support in defining virtual tire performance targets as well as evaluating the results and feedback from internal and external simulations. It also includes that you will be responsible for creating and applying Magic Formula tire models to further enhance our tire performance towards customer requirements.

In addition to that, your main responsibilities will be:

• Design and management of a development strategy, including continuous alignment of obtained test results with requirement profiles
• Coordination of in-time simulations, tire building, testing and delivery to customers
• Analyze together with customer the simulation results by using these models on virtual vehicles according to predefined stability limits and driving characteristics
• Implementation of approved specifications into production as well as monitoring of serial production
• Planning, budgeting and leadership in tire development projects in order to meet customer as well as internal performance requirements

• Academic degree (University of Applied Science or higher) in engineering, automotive engineering, natural sciences or similar disciplines
• Experience in virtual tire development - preferably OE
• Very good experience in project management - preferably tire development projects
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken) 
• Very good communication skills
• Willingness to act and to take over responsibility
• Strong team player with a can-do mentality
