Purchasing in the region "APAC" is responsible for the strategic and operational sourcing of Production Materials (PM), Non-Production Materials (NPM) as well as components, parts and trading goods. "APAC" region comprises all countries Asia Pacific region in which Continental has own operations and/or suppliers. 

One core strategic pillar of Purchasing is sustainability. In the field of sustainability we are looking for a highly motivated candidate for the region located in Singapore. 

This position will be established for Continental Tires. 

Your Tasks

  • Monitor, analyze, and report on carbon emissions data across the APAC supplier network, supporting compliance with international and local sustainability regulations and in close alignment with relevant functions in Continental.
  • Conduct risk assessments and impact analyses related to responsible value chains (RVC), including carbon footprint evaluations and sustainability performance benchmarking.
  • Lead the implementation of sustainability initiatives in the APAC region (e.g., decarbonization, circular economy, due diligence) by collaborating with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Manage sustainability audit findings in the APAC region and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant environmental and human rights standards (e.g., ISO14001, SA8000). Support sustainability audit conduction on demand.
  • Manage and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders and with team and project members
  • Address and rectify non-compliance incidents in coordination with suppliers and internal teams, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to build supplier capabilities in sustainability practices, including renewable materials, decarbonization and circularity.
  • Support the development and execution of stakeholder engagement strategies, including change management and communication plans, to embed sustainability into purchasing processes.
  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability projects and supplier improvement plans, using data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of carbon markets, sustainability regulations, and industry best practices to advise internal teams and contribute to strategic planning.

Votre profil

  • University degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience, preferably in purchasing, sustainability, or supply chain management.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply sustainability-related regulations and standards (e.g., ISO14001, ISO45001, SA8000).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in carbon emissions data analysis, sustainability impact assessments, or compliance reporting.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, including stakeholder coordination and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
