THE POSITION

PLT Extruding Set-Up Tech

Setup and adjust of all machines in the Extruding department to equipment specification for quality and production. Train individual to make set ups and aid in training that is required for department.

1. Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set-up, detect, adjust and correct Extruding machinery.
2. Supervise and audit making of product after set-up changes or adjustments to insure set-up is to specification and approve for production.
3. Make surveillance of assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and utilize skills to reduce downtime on equipment.
4. Troubleshoot and make adjustments to machines.
5. Maintain accurate daily records on each machines so that a history of all breakdowns, changes, adjustments and other pertinent information is documented for reference.
6. Maintain machine checklist.
7. Conduct quality checks.
8. Effectively communicate with TPM, Floor Supervisor, and other Setup Technicians when any malfunction or breakdown occurs.
9. Perform work as directed by Shift Supervision, Lead Supervisor, and/or Department Manager related to machine efficiency and high quality production and training.
10. Aid in the training of new employees and accomplish yearly training regimen for department.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED & with 2 years mechanical experience or 1 year Continental experience.

Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Requirements:
Associates Degree or 5 years experience required
