Structural Simulation Engineer for Software and Central Technologies (Iasi)

Your tasks

Do you want to be a Structural Simulation Engineer for Software and Central Technologies (SCT)? These should spark your interest:

• Offer simulation support and design consultancy for the development of display units, head-up displays, low frequency antenna and body control modules;
• Perform finite element analysis according to ISO and OEM specific standards;
• Optimize and validate structural components and systems;
• Improve and develop new simulation methods;
• Participate in experimental validations: material testing, design validation, correlation activities;
• Provide clearly understandable simulation reports and design recommendations for multidisciplinary teams;
• Collaborate with different technical units/departments as member of an international team;
• Mentor and coach new/less experienced colleagues;
• Prepare technical documents (i.e., simulation guidelines, best practices, lessons learned).

A mentor will support you to gradually take over own responsibility after an initial training phase which will familiarize you with our products, tools, processes and organization.

You can be a perfect match to our team if you have:

• BSc, MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Applied Physics, Aerospace Engineering or comparable;
• 2+ years of experience in finite element analysis, with focus on structural simulations (static, vibrations, mechanical shock);
• Experience with ANSYS Mechanical or similar simulation software (e.g., ABAQUS, NASTRAN);
• Advanced knowledge of structural mechanics, strength of materials, material modelling for metals and thermoplastics;
• Relevant experience in the automotive or similar industries;
• Good communication and organizational skills;
• Self-motivated and responsible way of working;
• Good writing, reading and speaking English skills;
• Considered as an advantage: Experience in fatigue evaluation (e.g. nCode), CAD modelling, experience with explicit dynamic simulations (LS-Dyna), testing and modelling of elastomer materials, automotive standards, German language, scripting (e.g. Python).
