(Senior) Specialist, Automotive Security & Privacy

Overview
In this role you will work with internal product teams to develop and improve Continental’s cybersecurity maturity by providing the technology and processes to detect and prevent internal or external attempts to infiltrate vehicle systems and data.

Core Responsibilities

• Cybersecurity specialist with focus on the security and privacy in and around the vehicle
• Develop security and privacy solutions around electronic control units and the associated interfaces and networks
• Strong focus on supporting business units to help mature Continental’s cybersecurity posture
• Assist in researching attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems and coordinating mitigation strategy
• Support Continental’s coordinated vulnerability disclosure program
• Develop and refine Automotive Security and Privacy standards ­
• Drive the standardization of Automotive Security and Privacy solutions.
• Coordinate with the different functional areas of R&D, product development, and vehicle manufacturers.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years relevant experience with Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Familiarity with security vulnerabilities, security threat modeling, cryptography, penetration testing, and other basic security concepts
• Understanding of basic data privacy and protection goals
• Ability to effectively communication complex security concepts to technical counterparts and project management
• Ability to accurately interpret customer requirements regarding secure design and testing of embedded systems
• Ability to systematically analyze multiple alternative designs and provide defensible recommendation in alignment with security fundamentals and corporate objectives
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Willingness to collaborate with international teams

Preferred Qualifications 

• 5+ years relevant experience 
• Master degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline
• 2+ years of experience in the implementation of automotive security projects
• Experience applying security concepts to embedded systems
• Experience in Privacy by Design
• Cryptographic protocols and hardware (CMAC, HMAC, PKI, HSM, SHE, etc.)
• Programming experience
