Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Your tasks

THE POSITION:
As the Environmental Safety & Health Manager, you are responsible for developing and implementing programs and policies that enable the overall safety and health of employees while ensuring compliance with business operations.

•Manage all environmental, health & safety programs to assure compliance with all  applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations 
•Manage environmental permits, certifications, and registrations
•Create, maintain, and submit required EHS reports by required deadlines
•Develop and report safety and environmental metrics
•Conduct audits and implement action plans
•Help create a culture of injury-free attitudes within the company by demonstrating honest,     genuine care and passion for EHS
•Lead and coordinate Safety, Environmental and Risk Management activities
•Ensure that safety training is completed by all current and new employees by required   deadlines
•Other duties as required

Your profile

Basic Qualifications

•Minimum 5 years of combined environmental, safety and health experience or EHS   educational study.
•Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
•Experience in managing/handling compliance issues, OSHA/EPA programs, regulatory   reviews, permit preparation, reporting and record keeping.
•Experience with Federal, state, and local Worker’s Compensation law.

Additional Qualifications

•Proficient user in Microsoft Office Suite
•Strong communication, leadership, training, analytical and organizational skills.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
•Must be able to influence and motivate employees, enforce company safety policies and   procedures, and recommend corrective actions
•Must be able to work independently as well as in a collaborative team setting
•Must be available to respond to any emergency situations related to employee and property  safety
•Must be detail-oriented and be able to multitask on efforts
•Ability to present to management and take corrective action based on measured results
•Certification in environmental, health, and safety management, OSHA 30-hour Certification,   ISO 14001, Hazwoper, RCRA, DOT, and Asbestos
