Your tasks

For the Data Engineering team at the location in Hanover, we are looking for a working student (m/f/d) starting as soon as possible. The position comes with a working time of 20 hours per week for at least 6 months

Our Digital Solutions IT team is looking for a motivated Working Student to support the development team in developing and enhancing our Tire Data Service — a key service that delivers reliable tire data to customers worldwide in line with GDSO standards. 

If you are passionate about backend development, data integration topics, and want to gain hands-on experience in an agile, highly collaborative environment, this role is for you. 

Your Impact 

Together with us, you help ensure reliability, data quality, and continuous improvement of our Tire Data Service. 

You will: 

  • Support the development and optimization of backend components using Java. 
  • Work with PostgreSQL to query, structure, and enhance data quality. 
  • Assist in designing and maintaining data pipelines, APIs, and integrations with internal and external systems. 
  • Monitor data flows, identify inconsistencies, and contribute to resolving data related issues. 
  • Collaborate closely with Developers and DevOps engineers in an agile team. 
  • Contribute ideas and improvements to increase automation, stability, and scalability of our service. 
  • Gain exposure to Agile Methodology, Scrum ceremonies, and cross functional collaboration. 
  • Bring your communication skills to help document processes, clarify requirements, and support team alignment.

Your profile

Your Profile 

  • Fulltime student (m/f/d) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field. 
  • First hands-on experience with Java and SQL/PostgreSQL 
  • Knowledge or interest in  API development, Data modeling and data integration 
  • Agile methods such as Scrum (Scrum Master interest is a plus) 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively in a diverse, international team. 
  • Fluent English (Spoken and Written), German is a Plus
  • Availability of 20 hours per week for at least 6 months.
