Purchasing Process Automation & AI Specialist

Your tasks

As member of our global Purchasing Processes & Systems team, you will drive the next generation of intelligent automation initiatives across direct and indirect material procurement. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies - including autonomous AI agents, agentic workflows, and advanced automation -you will orchestrate transformative solutions that enhance efficiency, decision-making, and quality across our purchasing landscape.

You will be the interface between internal customers and IT as well the internal consultant for increasing efficiency and quality in our tool and process landscape.

 

Main tasks:

  • Analyze purchasing processes to identify automation potential and recommend solutions;
  • Design automation concepts considering available technologies, systems and processes;
  • Build own business solutions using available low code platforms (e.g. Knime, Power Automate);
  • Lead rollout and governance of RPA and AI solutions;
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards (e.g. Workers Council, Data Protection, EU AI Act);
  • Explore and test innovative technologies;
  • Manage requirements and continuous improvements for automation tools;
  • Monitor and maintain existing solutions;
  • Coordinate development with IT and align testing with internal stakeholders;
  • Promote and train teams on automation and AI technologies

Your profile

  • Solid experience IT and good understanding of and high interest in business processes, e.g. purchasing, logistics or sales (minimum 3 years of experience);
  • Alternatively, practical experience in purchasing, logistics or sales combined with a strong interest in IT and emerging technologies, especially AI;
  • Proficiency in automation tools, preferably KNIME;
  • Project experience (project management skills are a plus);
  • Solid MS Office skills;
  • SAP knowledge desirable;
  • Experience in international environments is beneficial;
  • Degree in business, economics, IT, or a related field;
  • Demonstrates a high level of self-motivation and autonomy, approaches stakeholders, and proactively acquires necessary knowledge and resources;
  • High ability to work in a (virtual) team and intercultural competence;
  • Business fluent English language skills (written and spoken minimum B2 of CEFR)
