Maintenance control engineer

Your tasks

The Control Engineer is responsible for the design, development, installation, management, and maintenance of equipment used to monitor and control systems (e.g., PLCs), machinery, and processes. The position's mission is to plan, coordinate, and control all activities related to PLCs, HMIs, and displays, as well as to prepare the necessary resources to support in the event of a machine control failure and implement action plans for the continuous improvement of all relevant manufacturing engineering processes. He or she is also responsible for developing and guiding (coaching) maintenance engineers and technicians in the area of ​​control engineering.

He or she is responsible for developing actions to improve maintenance indicators (MTTR and MTBF), local machine control, new process development, technical specifications for machines, budget and capacity calculations, release of machines to suppliers, training for maintenance supervisors and technicians, and development of standard work instructions for critical maintenance work.

Your profile

  • University degree, preferably in mechatronics, electronics, electrical, mechanical, control systems, industrial engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5 or more years of professional experience in manufacturing or control engineering, preferably in two functional areas, e.g., maintenance, control engineering, projects, manufacturing engineering, or technical services.
  • Experience in rubber and plastic production processes is desirable.
  • Experience in project management and industrial machinery development is desirable.
  • Experience in rubber manufacturing processes (mixers, mills, extruders, vulcanizing presses) is desirable.
  • 1 or more years in a leadership position, preferably in a technical team with functional and disciplinary responsibility for others.
  • Experience working with international teams on production issues and understanding foreign cultures. 
  • Knowledge of English is required.
