Your tasks

Drive Strategic Financial Leadership: We are seeking a professional Head of Group Accounting to establish and maintain the overall Group Accounting department within the central Finance organization of ContiTech. Overall responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Group Financial Reporting:
    • Preparation of annual and consolidated financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and yearly) in accordance with IFRS, the German Commercial Code (HGB), and other applicable accounting standards.
    • Ensuring the timely provision of consolidated statements for external and internal stakeholders, including the management board, investors, and auditors.
    • Coordination with subsidiaries and international branches to ensure consistency in the financial statements.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Leading and developing a team of accountants and financial professionals within the group accounting department.
    • Fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment, ensuring clear communication and effective coordination across the group.
  • Compliance & Governance:
    • Ensuring compliance with all relevant local and international accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting frameworks (including IFRS, HGB, and others as applicable).
    • Monitoring the implementation of changes to accounting standards and internal policies to maintain compliance.
    • Collaboration with external auditors and ensuring audit requirements are met, as well as responsibility for implementing any necessary adjustments.
  • Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
    • Establishing and maintaining the internal control system for the group’s accounting activities.
    • Continuous review and optimization of accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
    • Implementation of best practices for accounting operations.
  • Communication & Stakeholder Management:
    • Cooperation with other departments (controlling, taxes, treasury, legal, and operations) to align financial reporting with the overall corporate strategy.
    • Main point of contact for accounting processes and standards, providing expertise and support for the CFO and other departments.
    • Maintaining open communication with external stakeholders (auditors, regulatory authorities, investors, etc.).

Your profile

  • Academic degree in business administration, law, or a comparable qualification with a focus on accounting / auditing
  • Several years of experience in a senior accounting position, ideally in a global company within the automotive or manufacturing industry or in an auditing firm
  • Sound knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and German GAAP (HGB)
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, consolidation tools and business intelligence solutions
  • Extensive leadership experience in an international corporate environment, ideally with responsibility across multiple sites or countries
  • Fluent German and English language skills written and spoken
  • Strong analytical thinking, high attention to detail, and persistence in solving complex challenges
