Your tasks

Join our team as a Global Customs Data & Performance Manager at Group Sector ContiTech!

In this role you will be leading projects, support the development of global strategies and lead continuous improvement in the area of transparency and quality of Customs master data. While safeguarding the transparency of the ContiTech Globa Trade data, you contribute within compliance as well as value creation. Together with senior management you will work on execution of Customs strategy and prepare business cases and its implementation to generate maximal business value (financial + operational excellence + customer focus). You will optimize processes and working procedures, lead global best practice and manage strategic initiatives in close cooperation with customs governance team, business, customers, suppliersa and IT.

You will take over following responsibility:

  • working on execution of  Customs strategy and therefor develop a global communications concept for Data Management and Performance Controlling.
  • take over responsibility for the global concept of Customs Cost performance and savings;  implementation of global customs budget procedure, track global cost development and raise activities towards continuous improvement.
  • develop concepts for Global Customs data and support their implementation to ensure full reporting, data transparency, validation of data quality and to improve the maintenance of relevant Customs master data's such as HS - Classification, Customs Broker data, Origin data and Free Trade Agreements, Customs Value and Customs Rates etc.
  • collaborate both cross-functionally and cross-regionally with ContiTech stakeholders: IT, SCM, Digitalization Team and third party service providers on implementation of adequate reporting tools and dashboards; thereby defining concepts, tasks and responsibilities, as well interfaces, which will harmonize and consolidate internal and external data.
  • perform analysis and enhance reporting capabilities which will provide analytical support for Customs project and initiatives.
  • lead Customs projects to ensure compliance, savings and business value worldwide.
  • evaluate Customs opportunities and create business cases for management; perform best practice exchange on the global scale.
  • lead and track optimizations projects, proper document all achievements and prepare regular progress reporting; clarify with stakeholders, prepare presentations and conduct trainings.

Your profile

  • University degree within business/global trade/finance/informatics or an interdisciplinary education, such as international business law or long experience in a customs department.
  • You show good  social competence, including communication skills, openness, a cooperative working style and the ability to work across cultures and countries.
  • You have high affinity for numbers and preparing management presentations, including experience  with MS Excel, Power BI, MS Power Point or similar.
  • You show motivation and initiative by setting your own expectations and goals.
  • You have experience with ERP systems and processes, preferably within the evaluation of data.
  • You ideally have experience in projects across functions.
  • You are fluent in English both speaking and writing.
  • You prefer a team-oriented way of working and show assertiveness.
