Mechanical Classification Engineer - Export Control & Sanctions

Your tasks

▪ Organizing the structures and processes
▪ Prioritizing work and projects
▪ Oversight on responsibilities▪ Development and maintainance of technical Standards and processes (global)
▪ Development and maintainance of technical forms, templates, etc.
▪ Developing engineering opinions regarding work products like internal export licenses, classifications, standards and processes▪ Technical advisory of R&D and other relevant functions
▪ STOP function on R&D projects that share controlled technologies cross border without a license▪ Attend to and advise on R&D projects to ensure marketability from an export control point of view
▪ Analysis of developments on non-proliferation regime level (early warning)
▪ Attendance, representation and communication with technical working groups of associations.▪ Analysing and commenting on new non-proliferation regime and regulatory proposals and developments.
▪ Strategic analysis and alignment with internal and external stakeholders (especially R&D, associations).
▪ Analysis of geopolitical developments and assessment of consequences for the group.
▪ Communication to and with senior management concerning regulatory restrictions▪ Export control classification of all goods, software and technology of Continental (global) that are transferred across international borders.
▪ Classification of all production gear and machinery that is transferred to new locations (line transfers).
▪ Analysis of sanctions and embargos; identifying and classifying sanctioned goods, software and technology.
▪Ultimate decision on classification of goods, software and technology in the respective field of expertise / impact for all business activity of the company▪ Preparation of engineering opinions concerning the classification of goods, software and technology; alignment with R&D, authorities and external counsels.
▪ Analysis of local/regional technical regulations concerning export control in aligment with the regional Centers of Competence; defining necessary local/regional measures and processes.
▪ Gap analysis and remediation.▪ Leading and supervising projects; definition of requirements.
▪ Supporting automated sanctions controls by the IT systems (SAP)▪ Classification of munitions (military items)
▪ Development and maintenance of munitions classification master data▪ Conduct technical awareness outreach (intangible goods, technology, software and samples).
▪ Developing, designing and maintaining of technical training and awareness raising materials (Powerpoint and LMS).
▪ Technical trainings to R&D, industrial engineering, manufacture; support train the trainer activities.
▪ Tracking and documentation.
