RnD Group Leader Reinforcement Industrialization and Processing

We are looking for a passionate team player to take on the leadership of the RnD Industrialization and Reinforcement Processing team located in Hannover and Lousado. The position is being advertised by Continental ITA - Indústria Textil do Ave.

Your tasks will include:

• Selection, qualification and strategic leadership of a team of highly qualified engineers and chemists at technology centers Hannover and Lousado
• Process development and industrialization of new rubberization processes according to technology development process VP04A, covering the full tire portfolio of PLT, T&B and ST, in close collaboration with manufacturing tire engineering, process engineering and quality management
• Industrialization of reinforcement and skim compound technologies past Gate 4 according to development process VP04E, in all tire plants worldwide
•  Review and optimization of development processes and process specifications in terms of efficiency, quality and cost while being compliant with the existing set of regulations.
• Initiate activities to fill the innovation pipeline in line with future processing requirements by e.g. joint developments with suppliers, master students or cooperation with universities and research institutes.
• Steering of and participation in projects in the area of reinforcement and skim compound material development and industrialization, process development as well as IT projects associated with the relevant business process
• Representation of rubberization processes within the Innovation Team
• Build up, document and spread advanced know-how for reinforcement and skim compound related materials and processes

• Academic degree in natural science, engineering or comparable fields
• Perennial years of work experience & advanced knowledge in the area of material or process or development or industrialization environment.
• Project leader or group leader experience desired
• Intercultural competency along with a clear and open communication style
• Very good written and spoken English language skills
• Proactiveness, willingness to bring topics forward
• Strong customer orientation and problem-solving mindset
• Willingness to travel (national and international) alongside ability to collaborate and lead remotely
