Technical Compliance & Governance Specialist - Purchasing
Your tasks
As a Technical Compliance & Governance Specialist you’ll be at the heart of safeguarding our products and processes while supporting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. You will manage technical compliance cases, ensure product safety and conformity, oversee system-related responsibilities, support audit processes, design, and lead training programs, assist with governance initiatives, and drive corrective actions based on lessons learned. This role is a leading self-position and will be performed in Lousado (Portugal), reporting directly to the Head of this Area in Hannover (Germany).
Technical Compliance (tC) case management and support:
- Lead efforts to detect and manage technical compliance cases early—think quality issues, customer complaints, or audit findings and manage the full lifecycle of tC cases.
- Assess risks by analyzing the likelihood and impact of compliance concerns, preparing detailed reports, and escalating as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product safety and conformity, meeting industry standards (like VDA) and customer expectations.
- Act as a vital link in our tC Multiplier Network, fostering a strong internal control culture within Purchasing.
Support Governance & Internal Controls:
- Play a key role in audits by supporting the audit preparation process and tracking progress.
- Design and deliver engaging e-learnings and training programs to boost awareness of rules, risk management, and internal controls.
- Support special projects and governance initiatives, providing expert advice and ad-hoc analyses.
- Take charge of system-related tasks, such as validating rules, approving metadata, and resolving technical challenges.
Your profile
- University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or comparable areas of study.
- At least 2 years of experience in Industry Area, performing in the fields of risk management, internal controls or compliance.
- In additional, experience in purchasing areas with deep understanding of purchasing processes and IT systems.
- Business key user role within a multinational organization will be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment techniques and internal control frameworks with the ability to implement best practices.
- Experience in Technical Compliance Management.
- Intercultural competence.
- Excellent English language skills (written and spoken): minimum B2 European level.
