Maintenance control engineer
Your tasks
The Control Engineer is responsible for the design, development, installation, management, and maintenance of equipment used to monitor and control systems (e.g., PLCs), machinery, and processes. The position's mission is also to plan, coordinate, and control all activities related to PLCs, HMIs, and displays, as well as to prepare the necessary resources to support in the event of a machine control failure and implement action plans for the continuous improvement of all relevant manufacturing engineering processes. It is also their responsibility to develop and coach the maintenance engineer in the area of control engineering. Responsible for Engineering: developing actions to improve maintenance indicators (MTTR and MTBF) and local machine control. Developing new processes, developing technical specifications for machines, calculating budgets and capacities, releasing machines to suppliers, providing training for maintenance supervisors and technicians, and developing standard work instructions for critical maintenance work.
▪ Standardizing best practices to increase plant energy efficiency.
▪ Proposing and implementing energy projects.
▪ Evaluating the impact of energy project proposals from the maintenance team and supporting project nominations.
▪ Initiating and overseeing ongoing employee training in Control Engineering in cooperation with the HR department.
• Providing advice and coaching on PLCs and machine troubleshooting to the maintenance team.
▪ Developing control training plans for maintenance personnel.
▪ Ensure monitoring and reporting of maintenance team performance in SAP PM and SAP ME.
▪ Ensure monitoring of maintenance department performance (KPIs) (e.g., related to cost, response time, time to failure identification, MTTR, MTBF).
▪ Initiate and monitor measures for continuous improvement of the maintenance department.
Your profile
Required:
- University degree, preferably in mechatronics, electronics, electrical, mechanical, control systems, industrial engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5 or more years of professional experience in manufacturing or control engineering.
- B2 level of english.
- Extensive experience in project management.
- 1 or more years in a leadership position, preferably on a technical team with functional and disciplinary responsibility for others.
- Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies.
- Maintenance management, handling MTTR and MTBF indicators.
- Knowledge of electrical controls.
- Knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens Step7 / Siemens TIA / Siemens HMI-solutions / machine network [ProfiNet / Profibus]).
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems.
Desired:
- Previous experience in two functional areas, e.g., maintenance, control engineering, projects, manufacturing engineering, or technical services.
- Extensive experience in rubber and plastic production processes.
- Experience implementing standards and/or strategic projects.
- Knowledge of ISO 16949, 45001, 14001 standards, preferably 50001.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
