Global IT Team Lead R&D, Quality and Operations Applications - OESL (m/f/diverse)

The OESL IT department is newly conceived and being built now! With this pioneering effort, OESL IT will be flexible, fast, and forward-thinking. Our IT team will become a strategic advisory partner, strengthening digital capabilities and driving business success.
In your role as Global IT Team Lead R&D, Quality and Operations Applications, you will work in a dynamic environment and modernize and optimize the IT system landscape with us. The role handles the relationship towards our business customers as well as to our internal and external suppliers for all R&D, quality management, and operations applications. You will be an integral part of the OESL IT's new business applications team, with responsibility for approximately 20+ FTEs.
Your Responsibilities:
- Define and manage the IT product portfolio strategy for R&D, Quality, and Operations applications, ensuring seamless integration into the organization’s IT architecture to support business needs.
- Develop and maintain application roadmaps that drive innovation, agility, and operational effectiveness across product development, quality management, and operations
- Take full responsibility for the IT product lifecycle, including planning, demand management, delivery, and performance tracking, ensuring continuous improvement and issue resolution.
- Foster a product-oriented culture with a BizDevOps approach, managing both domestic and international teams and ensuring effective collaboration across time zones and business units
- Build and lead cross-functional product teams, promoting accountability, innovation, and high performance while empowering them to work independently using agile methods
- Ensure effective resource allocation, maintain alignment with business priorities, and provide mentorship to foster team development and career growth
- Act as the central liaison between IT and business stakeholders, translating the needs of engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams into scalable, value-driven IT solutions
- Maintain relationships with key technology partners and suppliers in the R&D, quality, and operations applications space, ensuring strategic alignment and best-in-class support
- Drive IT innovation by leveraging emerging technologies (e.g., IoT, AI, digital twins, advanced analytics) to modernize R&D, manufacturing and quality management systems
- Promote continuous improvement and digital transformation, optimizing IT-enabled processes for product development, quality assurance, and operational efficiency
Your profile
- Degree in IT, business informatics / engineering / administration or equivalent
- Proven experience in managing a comprehensive portfolio of R&D, Quality, and Operations applications, ensuring seamless integration into a modern IT architecture
- Expertise in IT solutions supporting R&D, such as product lifecycle management (PLM), quality management systems (QMS), and operations (e.g., smart factory applications)
- Experience driving digital transformation initiatives in R&D, quality processes, and operations, leveraging modern IT solutions to improve product development, innovation and operational efficiency
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively between IT, engineering, quality, and operations teams
- Strong knowledge of modern IT architectures, including cloud-based solutions, industrial digitalization (e.g., IoT, AI, data analytics), their application to R&D, quality and manufacturing processes
- Exceptional understanding of product development, quality control, compliance, and manufacturing operations, with the ability to analyze and optimize processes for efficiency and regulatory adherence
- Business acumen and the capability to analyze complex operational, R&D, and quality requirements, translating them into effective IT solutions
- Demonstrated experience in leading IT projects across multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams, both locally and internationally
- Advanced skills in multi-project management, with the ability to manage priorities, align resources, and drive timely delivery of IT initiatives in engineering, operations and quality
- Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate high-performing, cross-functional teams
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts and translate them into understandable language for executives and non-technical stakeholders
