Global Manager for Supplier Development (m/f/d)

Your tasks

In this position we need you as an expert in managing our supplier assessments in specific production materials (selected from the categories of: Polymers, Fillers, Chemicals, Reinforcements, etc.), monitoring the continuous improvement of our requirements for  suppliers & as a (senior) consultant in your field of responsibility.

This dimension or special field of responsibility can be the following (one special field or several in combination): 

  • Assessments process
  • Sustainable Supply Chain
  • Sustainable Materials
  • Technical Compliance
  • Suppliers Performance Monitoring process
  • Management Systems,
  • or similar


All activities in the Expertise area and in the Supplier Development dimension coordination area, have to be carried out with a high degree of consciousness of the costs involved and respecting the budgets assigned.

This coordination of project teams will be part of the position, experienced project leaders with chemical background are highly welcome.

Your main tasks will be among others:

  • Plan and conduct supplier site assessments in specific Production Material areas/categories of responsibility
    (e.g.: Polymers, Fillers, Chemicals, Reinforcements, Components, etc.)
  • Initiate and follow up improvement actions in all required dimensions (Company, Sustainability, Quality, Supply, Technology, and Cost & Finance) until complete release of the supplier site
  • Monitor & secure continuous improvement of suppliers performance  in the categories/areas of responsibility
  • Provide support to other areas (e.g.: Buyers, SQM, R&D) in case of events with suppliers in the Production Material categories/areas of responsibility
  • Be actively involved in joint material development projects with suppliers in the Production Material categories/areas of responsibility
  • Consult selected suppliers in new & improved raw material manufacturing processes related with the Production Material categories/areas of responsibility

Your profile

  • University degree in Chemistry or Engineering or similar
  • 5 years of experience in the manufacturing or closely related areas of Production Materials (covering several of its dimensions) in the categories/areas of responsibility
  • Expert experience in (Raw) Material categories Production processes & caractheristics
  • Advanced experience in auditing or assessing companies, their manufacturing processes 
  • Certified auditor in some basic industry standard (e.g.: ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949, etc) preferable
  • First leadership experience or consulting experience in a special expertise mandatory
  • Experience in leading (and participating) in cross-functional projects (manufacturing area preferred)
  • Very good knowledge of quality management methods (Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC as an example)
  • Experience in cost and/or quality improvement programs
  • Well experienced in intercultural collaboration 
  • Fluent English skills (spoken & written), additional language skills highly welcome 
  • Very good analytical thinking skills & autonomous working ethic
