Purchaser Raw Material

Your tasks

  • Support developing global purchasing strategies for the respective Categories to ensure best prices, lean and efficient processes, availability as demanded and meet the necessary quality standards
  • Support best cost country and localization strategy, whenever possible and reasonable
  • Coordinate with related corporate functions in line with Continental purchasing standards
  • Manage regional supplier portfolio
  • Support supplier development/qualification activities to ensure timely sourcing, high quality and competitiveness
  • Negotiate frame contracts (e.g. Supply and Purchase Frame Agreements, Business Partner Code of Conduct, etc.)
  • Work with the different BA's and functions to find the best solutions from quality, service and availability of goods
  • Steer selection of new (PM) suppliers in collaboration with R&D
  • Monitor market pricing and availability movements for key production materials and timely communicate the impact
  • Follow GDDL and apply all internal and external requirements
  • Manage cross-functional task forces / projects (e.g., in case of raw material shortages)
  • Meet cost requirements, implement and conduct cost saving activities
  • Ensure competitiveness of prices in relation to the market and related feedstocks
  • Identify and implement new supply sources and saving potentials, incl. market analysis
  • Price budgeting and demand forecasting
  • Calculate and report all savings in respective tools (e.g., RAMPIT)
  • Maintain FC pricing/list
  • Manage Risk analysis for the respective Categories and take required actions
  • Supporting global category buyers in maintaining data in regional ERP systems.

Your profile

  • Degree in economics, engineering, operations (university / university of applied science).
  • Min. 3 years professional experience in PUR, finance, sales and/or R&D.
  • Experience in organizational development and design of processes.
  • Experience in negotiations.
  • Project management experience in major projects.
  • Proven track record in implementing processes and IT systems.
  • Experienced in working successfully on a national level, international level of advantage.
