Internal - Production Day Shift Supervisor - Cold Prep
Your tasks
- Responsible for an area of hourly production employees, production speed, production quality, machine performance, talent development and retention, and safety of work environment including housekeeping
- Responsible for being a leader of people and work in a cross functional team to solve problems and ensure departmental KPIs
- Support your team with any resources they need for success – tools, manpower and materials
- Enforce internal rules as outlined in the Standard of Conduct and non¬-negotiables
- Fill out incident reports immediately and prior to leaving the shift
- Place all orders in CEOS (supplies, tools etc.)
- Conduct all inventory counts
- Maintain your area to be in order, maintain safety and housekeeping. Material flow is happening. FIFO is followed
- Enter maintenance work orders in SAP and keep product moving in the plant
- Ensure all hourly employees are qualified to perform duties in a timely manner
- Maintain efficiency levels to assure availability of components to meet required schedules
- Assist in identifying potential machine or quality problems within department of responsibility
- Participate and prepare for all internal and external QA / Customer audits, close all findings in a timely manner
- Management of confidential information
- Follow all processes for containment and repair of material
- Change over check list completion
- Timely response and effective resolution for departmental mis productions
- Ensure that all sequenced production orders for the shift are executed and completed and communicate the “whys” if not met, reason code must be entered in SFI every day
- Ensures departmental technical compliance to all mandatory requirements including Safety, Environmental, ISO, Quality, Plant policy, Corporate policy, etc.
- Assist with the development of instructional programs, process control plans and PFEMA of equipment. Identify/ incorporate best practices and lessons learned into program plans
- Train/present course material. Insures maintenance of instructional programs, departmental work instructions, quality records, training records
- Coordinate, participate and track departmental improvement initiatives including Kaizen, TQM, TPM, 5S and Six Sigma initiatives
- Work with process engineers on improvement projects and be proficient in Microsoft office
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. Maintain all departmental records, including overtime and vacation scheduling
- Issue procedures and work instructions, ensure implementation of measures, and maintain controls
- Raise awareness, ensure regular ESH training and provide information about ESH responsibilities and duties
- Ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards
- Demonstrate exemplary personal behavior in ESH and motivate others
- Support the Continental Business System (CBS) structure by participating in the applicable CBT meeting, reviewing and managing his/her/team performance, conducting simple problem-solving using action sheets, identifying and implementing improvement opportunities, participating in the CBT reviews, and taking ownership for presented parts of the team boards
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Your profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree and 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment or relevant military or technical experience
- If no degree, must have 9 years relevant manufacturing experience, relative military experience or relevant technical experience
- 3+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- This role is an internal only position, external applicants will not be considered for this role
