Your tasks

As a team member of the Group Sector Central Function Technology of ContiTech, you will be globally responsible to drive success of applied data science and effective usage in all areas of the organization. In your new role you will design and implement innovative data-drive solutions to solve complex business problems as the principal expert for all integral aspects of applied machine learning, including expert knowledge of processes, technologies and methodology.

You

• Are expert level consultant to effectively apply machine learning (ML) methodology, technology and good practice, complementing AI/DS platform owners, AI/DS sector owners, AI/DS project owners
• Device and execute global machine learning strategy based on the overall CT Technology strategy together with CFO IT Data Science team
• Create best practices, guidelines and standards for application of ML in collaboration with AI/DS stakeholders and establish governance
• Provide expert consulting on the selection, application, optimization, and tuning of ML methods for concrete use case
• Advise on use of best practice ML approaches, tools, frameworks, platforms
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the business and industry to identify emerging trends and research to actively initiate, drive, execute, and evaluate technology PoCs and new opportunities in the DS/AI community
• Seek, establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external ML partners, academia for collaborative research

Your Qualifications 

• Academic degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, related fields or comparable qualification
• Multiple years of experience and extensive knowledge of machine learning methods, algorithms, and approaches and their theoretical statistical underpinnings
• Knowledge of current methods in Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Statistical Learning and their applications
• Experience in frameworks like Sagemaker, Data Architectures and Model Lifecycle Management
• Experience in agile project management with internal and external partners
• Very good handling with MS Office software
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), German is a plus
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Critical thinking, organizational skills and problem-solving mindset
