Material Handler

Your tasks

 

In order to be a successful Material Handler, a candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision, be proactive and dependable. 

A material handler is in charge of storing, moving, and managing materials. This includes maintaining materials for production needs in multiple departments based of production scheduled provided by Supply Chain and/ or direct supervisor. 

Job Requirements: 

  • Perform daily tasks of material movements as stated by work orders to the correct plant location. 

  • Ensure proper batch management guidelines are being followed and the all inventory is pulled FIFO unless otherwise stated. 

  • Support and unload inbound shipments. 

  • Ensure accuracy of shipments via paperwork, counts and weights. 

  • Assist in properly store and put away all received and tested compound, fabric and other raw materials as they deliver.   

  • Ensure proper safety procedures are being followed. 

  • Adhere to the  standards for slotting raw material as well as the SAP procedures for batch management. 

  • Perform monthly and quarterly cycle count procedures as set by schedule. 

  • Keep inventory of wood pallets and chocks and order as needed through Purchasing using Kanban cards. 

  • Band and load empty pallets to ship back. 

  • Help load scrap containers. 

  • Support extruders by taking over compound. 

  • Perform all cleaning as scheduled provided on the K-cards that is assigned to Material Handler area and/or designated area.    

  • Other job duties as assigned
