THE POSITION

  • Works closely with the HR Manager in the implementation and monitoring of policies related to human resources, as well as employee relations strategies at the business unit or division level. Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach. Participates in company-wide programs and initiatives, as well as developing and implementing HR strategies for employee engagement, development, and retention. Oversees HRBP activities pertaining to all aspects shopfloor employee relations.  Reviews shopfloor disciplinary actions for fairness and consistency.  Assists HR Operations with HR related shopfloor operations initiatives.   Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving.  

  • Overall responsibility for operational employee relations in the Sumter plant.
  • Implement policies related to human resources, the organization and employee engagement and retention.
  • Manages and consults with HRBPs and managers to address root causes of human resources issues.
  • Attempt to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach.
  • Participates in and executes company-wide programs and initiatives.
  • Assists operations management in the development of employee solutions through HR coordination and communication.
  • Coaches and influences operational management, HRBP’s, peers and shopfloor employees.
  • Facilitates meetings and presentations.
  • Clearly communicates plant policies, practices, changes and important information .
  • Analyses problems and presents resolutions to HR Manager
  • Develops strategies and processes to ensure all HR goals and objectives are communicated, executed, and achieved
  • Issue procedures and work instructions, ensure implementation of measures, and maintain controls
  • Raise awareness, ensure regular ESH training and provide information about ESH responsibilities and duties
  • Ensure immediate notification and response, and initiate preventive measures in case of unsafe or polluting hazards
  • Demonstrate exemplary personal behavior in ESH and motivate others
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum 7 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree Preferred
  • 10+ years experience preferred
