Material Chemist - Product Industrialization

The Material Chemist - Product Industrialization will

The chemist will become well versed in rubber processing, manufacturing of tires and the various staff and line functions of the plant.  Will assist other Senior Chemists and become familiar with chemist functions by doing factory formulations, updates, performing plant process evaluations and performing specials projects as requested.

1. Translate corporate specifications to plant capabilities and equipment.
2. Perform evaluations of materials and compounds.
3. Disposition suspicious compounds and components.
4. Assist in troubleshooting and solving manufacturing issues.
5. Perform work in either the Truck Tire (TT) or Passenger/Light Truck (PLT) side of the plant.
6. Issue written technical reports
7. Attend Business Team meetings as required.
8. Develop computer skills required for specification creation and data collection.
9. Audit plant conformance to technical specifications and standards.
10. Become familiar with the economics of manufacturing and assist in control of green and cured waste.
11. Train and learn responsibilities of the PI materials department. Learn the practices and manufacturing procedure associated with the PI materials group.
12. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.
13. Perform other duties as required by the PI Materials Manager.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,430 - $75,636 a year.

Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
